HELPING YOU ACHIEVE YOUR IDEAL BIRTH

Michaela (Mikki) Bell is the face behind TheDoulaBell and has really been preparing for this gifting her whole life. She jokes, "The first doula client I ever had was a momma sheep out on our family friend's farm in Colorado when I was 9 years old. That was the first birth I ever participated in and since then, I've been so enthralled with birth in every form."
 

Mikki's real journey to becoming a doula began with the birth of her firstborn, Jensen. She states that having a doula herself changed her whole perception about what birth is really like and what the human body is capable of. She says

"My doula really helped me achieve what I hoped for in childbirth. She supported all of my decisions and was just that constant reassuring presence of someone who knows birth. Birth is hard and sometimes scary and I think it's absolutely essential to have someone that the birthing person and her partner can rely on and who can help them achieve their goals and dreams on potentially one of the most memorable days of their lives."

Mikki has been able to work with parents in all types of birth settings, deliveries with OB's in the operating room and with midwives at home in a bedroom, and for parents of twins, singletons, and for IVF and VBAC families.

After such a wide variety of experiences, Mikki has found her niche and is now studying midwifery at Midwives College of Utah, apprenticing with midwife, Katie Hamilton of Mama Nurture Birth, and focusing her doula work to assist birthing people who are ready to do the work toward having a drug/intervention-free labor and birth.
